Is biometric data secure and GDPR-compliant?

Yes. All biometric data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Chekin is fully GDPR-compliant, ISO certified and ENISA-compliant. Data is retained only for the legally required period and then automatically deleted.

What happens if a verification fails?

If the biometric comparison doesn't produce a confident match, the guest is prompted to retry. If it still fails, you're notified and can choose to verify manually from your Chekin dashboard.

Which identity documents are supported?

Chekin supports passports, national identity cards, driving licences and residence permits from over 150 countries. The OCR engine is trained on more than 2,500 document templates.

What's the difference between selfie match and liveness detection?

Selfie match compares a single photo against the document photo, it's the fastest method. Liveness detection adds a short video sequence with on-screen prompts, confirming a real person is present and blocking spoofing attempts.
